Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Hi everyone. I am new to this. I have had problems with alcohol for years now. I make myself physically sick. I have ruined relationships and caused a lot of issues. I drink by myself. Can anyone help or give me feedback on what to do and if this chat group has helped? Thank you.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I am a believer in AA, as i walked into the rooms and never took a drink again.
I tried to quit a million times on my own, I failed a million times. This time I asked for help and found that there are other Recovered alcoholics that want to help. I found hope in a Room of other recovering people. They taught me how to cope with the issues in life. How to be happy and sober. It is possible.
But just like it’s impossible to lift yourself up by your bootstraps, i. couldnt do it alone, it took help from others that knew what to do.

Most of us can't quit alone, we needed help. I got a sponsor through AA who could hold me accountable as well as guide me through the steps. You can ask for one at a meeting.
Good luck on your road to recovery. Keep us posted because the path you take, might help someone else.
God Bless
I know I was able to listen and build a solid foundation of praying, reading the AA literature, going to AA meetings, talking to other alcoholics, and doing unselfish actions regularly on a day to day basis.
I like daily strength because it gives me a place to vocalize the frustrations of living with alcoholism.
If it weren't for this website, I would hold all my frustrations and anger in, and it would become too pressure built to contain, and I would either become violent, destructive, or law breaking. If it weren't for daily strength I would have never been able to see who I am by writing so much, vent how difficult it is for a mentally ill and alcoholic person like me to survive financially and emotionally in America, but most importantly hear solutions from other less mentally ill and equally alcoholic people who also seek help.
I stumbled upon this site, in a time of great distress around 5 or 6 years ago, and it has been a life saver. I have been suspended, had my writings erased and deleted by the site, bashed by others who just don't want to hear what I have to say that day, but most of all again, loved greatly with tolerance and understanding from daily strength and it's community.
Finding this sort of help, and refuge from a cold, inept, and distant world far too often too inconsiderate to be invested in, was a great relief for a sick person like myself, and I really appreciate daily strength and whoever created it, it has saved my life on more than one occasion and it is a great blessing for those who struggle and need relief.
