Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Just felt like checking in. I'm six years sober, and happy about it. Last night I got strong chest pain for 20 minutes, through to my back. I rang for an ambulance, then rang again to say 'don't worry, the pain's going'. But they said 'just let the ambos come and talk to you.' Next thing I'm in the emergency department. I was there all night. They took my chest pain very seriously, I'm 53 and an ex smoker. Anyway, I had many hours to stare at the ceiling with nothing to do but think. I thought 'what a great time to do a gratitude list'. Top of the list was having had my psychologist for many years, he turned my life around as I have problems other than alcohol. Then, I just waited and waited. Got the all clear - heart's fine, lungs are clear. So, that went on my gratitude list - I'm healthy. And sober. It's now 6.30am, and I haven't been to sleep.
Take care everyone.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

God bless...

What I had to do was get over that sense of entitlement fast or it would have killed me for sure. Good health isn't always the result of good livin'. Sometimes luck plays a big part in it.
nelliefay -- glad it was nothing serious. Sleep well!
