Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I grew up with an alcoholic parent who made my life hell, traumatized all of us. First time I seen it I was 5 years old. Playing with my barbie house and seeing her on the couch hammered, didn't even aknowledge me at all... The fights and shit I had to hear and other family members who are no longer in my life anymore due to not protecting me. My addiction started when I was 18 or 19 it started off as just fun with my boyfriend at the time, we would party here and there and then it started to become frequent.. Ended up doing horrible things to him like cheating it got way way worse. All the times I've embarrased myself being plastered drunk having people carry me and not even knowing what the hell is going on, waking up and finding anything I could drink so I could get through the damn day. I can't even explain literally everything I did cause it is heavy and way too much. I've been sober for 3 days now I am scared but I am 23 and my life is going by too quick to kept doing this.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

The key is today and what’s going to be going forward.
I found a room of other recovering alcoholics and finally was able to be sober and happy.
Life is good, things still happen but now I don’t have to crawl in a bottle and hide
What’s your plan, honestly I couldn’t do it alone, but I was super stubborn and would never ask for help. It took till I was 39 and the pain was too great to handle.
Get back to life and be happy. You deserve it

The alternative is the hell you are going through right now or you can be proactive and choose a program to help you deal with the issues facing you that are triggering your addiction. AA and the 12 steps saved my life. I honestly don't think I would be here writing this if I hadn't gone to meetings and got a sponsor to help guide me through the steps!
The path you take on your road to recovery, might help someone else so keep us posted.
God Bless
It takes guts to admit that you have a problem and to come here. Bobinmaine is right, you do not have to live like that any longer. There is a freedom that will come to you when you hear others who have similar stories. We have all done things that shame us, and make us think that we are awful people. You will learn that you are just like everyone else but at the same time a very beautiful person. Best of luck. Come back to us anytime you need help or encouragement.
I wish I had the common sense to have this discussion at 23. Sounds like I grew up in an environment like yours. I waited til I was 40 to stop.
I damaged a lot of people in that time.
I went to AAA, and my life changed to something amazing.
Yea keep going forward seriously, I can relate to a lot of things you mentioned. I grew up with it as well, watching my dad verbally and sometimes physically abuse my mom. Alcoholism runs on both sides of my family and I ended up following the chain. Now sober for quite a while because I had to. I was intubated once almost died from it and didn't want my daughter watching me go through this. She was a baby when I stopped so she only knows how I am now. If you can get a hold on it now do it because it just gets harder the longer you struggle with it.
