This is an alcoholism board. Even though the drunks who can't read or write are probably not participating in an online forum there are those whose education lacks or they have brain damage. Never saw an alcoholic who learned reading in AA meetings?

Well for some of us, english isn't our first language. And staying sober is more important than using proper grammar.

WhooHoo, I appreciate an OT remark. I know many think we ought to discuss our alcoholism ALL THE TIME or we may lose our grip on sobriety, but it's nice to notice that there is life beyond discussing our trouble with booze every dang second. Thanks for peeving here!

As for the your and you're issue, I think if schools spent more time teaching basics like grammer instead of things like "self esteem" your peeve would be ignited less often!

Wow, do they still actually teach in school??? Darn! I thought they just gave out end of grade tests, and sent them home for their parents to teach them? (Oh, I was going to say 'there parents' but didn't want to be a smart a--, oh wait, I am a smart a--) Actually, if parents spent more time w/self-esteem instead of homework w/their kids, maybe the kids wouldn't end up drinking, just a thought, no wait, a peeve.

I have benign Familiar Tremors exasperated by my emotions.

I often need one hand on the other to hit one key at a time, errors occur.

Well I was the only one who has called you a Drunk that I know of...that's about me.

Pat, I said "drunks" but that includes myself (is the grammar correct?). We have one member in my homegroup who is a bit retarded (mid 20's). He read like a kid in first grade until we made him secretary and he had to read the preamble and some other readings every week. It was a pain to listen to in the beginning but by now he is almost fluent.
