Was just landing here for a sec trying to catch my breath after working all day, barreling in to Dairy Queen for a bag of after-the-band-concert Dilly Bars, zooming home to be here in time for Verizon guy to come out and hook up my service, calling my Mom on my cell to see if she's driving out for the band concert, bemoaning the fact that I have to do my dishes before the band concert because my mom AND dad AND sister and her kids are all driving in from OHIO to see my son's first band concert and I can't let them see how we LIVE around here during the week, and then agonizing over the fact that I have to drag out that damn ironing board and hunt down the godforsaken iron so that I can... pant pant... breeeeathe... iron a little white dress shirt and black dress pants...

and that's when I'm learning to stop... and be present... this is it. This is Life, and we are livin' it! My son is playing trumpet in the 5th grade band! He has a shiny silver Yamaha, and he is really quite good, and has been since the minute he picked it up! Instead of I HAVE to iron a little white shirt, I gotta say, aren't I lucky, I GET to iron a little white dress shirt, for a promising new musician... My mom, dad, sister, niece, and nephew are travelling an hour and a half to support my son's trumpet playin' career!

I am here, 100%, in this moment. Thank you, God.
