Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I remember being in detox for 4 days. I had a counselor talk to me about entering the IOP. (Intensive Outpatient Program) which lasts for 3 weeks. I signed up for the evening class so I could continue working my day job. I got a certificate after that ended but my counselor referred me to more counseling so she signed me up to go once a week to an addiction counselor for the next 3 months. Throughout all the help I received, regular attendance at AA meetings were a requirement.
I had to be willing to do everything it took to stay sober because I didn't think I had any other choice so I got a sponsor and did the steps and 13 years later I am happier then I have ever been.
I hope your fiance accepts the help offered. It will really help him if he does.
I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
When I was in detox, I think it was only the first 2 or 3 days that we were not allowed to make phone calls and that's so they could find out where I was at, emotionally because sometimes we get emotional talking with family members and emotions are huge triggers...
I remember when I was in treatment, every wednesday was family day. This is when the alcoholics entire family sits in a circle and tells the alcoholic exactly what his drinking did to them and the alcoholic tells family why he drank....This is done under the guidance of two highly trained therapists. It tends to bring out alot of hidden problems.
There were many, many, tears shed, but, at the same time, there is alot of healing.. This is freudian therapy at it's best. Looking at the problem, without judgement, healing it with forgiveness, and then letting it go. Then the problem is gone in a wisp of smoke, so to speak. Then it's on to the next one..... It is very difficult to do but the benefits far exceed the temporary fear that family members go through, and the counselors give lots and lots of emotional support.............Hope this helps,
God Bless
