Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
But, I would give you one piece of advice which is to go to AA and get involved in the program. It doesnt cost anything apart from a small donation in the pot each meeting, if you can afford it.
I was in a position that I did get to go to treatment but I know many more people who were in a worse position that me who got and stayed sober with only AA. (if someone needs a detox that is different btw as that requires medical supervision)
So please dont lose hope, many many people get sober and stay that way in AA and you can be one of them.
I had to pay a $2000 copay for my 1 week of treatment Ashley....and I'm a paycheck to paycheck girl. But ya know what? My best friend paid $1500 of it and my sister paid the other $500 and I paid them back over a year and 1/2.
My sobriety was worth it....
I'm sorry you're frustrated and I don't blame you, but decide how much your life is worth....
I went to treatment for 5 days, then outpatient for 30 days. After insurance paid, we had to pay $1,100. I had a resentment about that because other than getting me through detox, the only thing they did that I could have done for just a dollar in the pot, was take me to AA meetings and have groups based in the 12 Steps.
After just one meeting, I knew where I needed to be. Congrats on 2 weeks. You survived detox. If you become involved in AA, you might just find that you can lay the joint down as well. Best wishes as you continue your journey.
