Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I've been sober 42 days now! The big problem I've come across is that I love eating out, and the majority of my favorites restaurants are basically ale houses, Bourbon bars etc.(Kentucky y'all) First times eating out I was too scared to ask the bartender many questions about if any of the cocktails could be made into a Mocktail, so I ended up just ordering soda water, which is fine but not my favorite. Well after getting more confident I gave the alcohol menus more of a look, and found both of my favorite restaurants have Mango Puree that they add to some of their cocktails. So I asked for soda water with the mango puree and lime, and WOW! it was so delicious. Now I have a new favorite drink and feel confident ordering it. Any one have any other AF drinks they like to order at restaurants? Besides the typical shirley temple.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I usually have iced tea or an occasional non-alcoholic beer when I'm out. I understand some stay away from the NA options for fear of wanting the real thing, but this has never been an issue for me in the four months I've been sober. Kaliber is my favorite non-alcoholic beer option, as well as Claushaler when you can find it. I also like the non-alcoholic ginger beers. There are some bartenders who are quite cool and will go out of their way to make you an NA cocktail if you tell them what flavors you're interested in.
Wishing you continued success!
I like cranberry juice with tonic water and lime! Lemonade and iced tea all year round!
I would rather use those empty calories on something else. I am happy for you that you are 42 days sober. Sooner or later you will get to the stage in your life that this will no longer be an issue. You will go out in public and just order blah blah blah that is non alcoholic without a second thought. This will be a non issue. Congrats to you
I honestly don't sit in the bar areas anymore. Not my game
Glad you are making progress
I love going out as well and ordering a big steak. Yum

I prefer sitting at a table because I think it is easier to talk to the people I am with, but I don't mind sitting at a bar.
Its a slippery slope for me. I went the non alcoholic beer; and virgin mojito route a few times when I tried to get dry. I drank again.
I also feel comfortable going anywhere --- and ordering booze free drinks. the waiters could give a rats arse if you drink or don't drink.
