Hi im niall im 3 an half hears without a drink i go to meeting 3 times a week at least. i cam into aa a little after my 24th birthday an have no regrets my life has changed so much. But i feel so alone in aa i moved home an have lost contact with my sponser an can never get him when i need him. I am going into meetings an coming out worse. I feel im on thin ice at the mo. I honestly dont feel there is anyone i can turn to. I feel i have lost my faith in my hp. feeling numb

Hi Niall:
I sobered up at age 26 in Toronto Canada...left there in my 4th year of sobriety...And moved to London(Canada)...
i would go back to my home group every week because i missed them so much....
one day i told my sponsor..."AA is different in London"...he said.. noit isn't ..YOU are different!....
hmmm...
as one of my sponsees put on his 5yr AA medallion this week:
" wherever you go,there you are"...
maybe pick up the tools locally that got you sober in your first city ?

Also, my home group has a website with a Big Book focused chat room in it...
please come visit us some day soon.

Moving home can be traumatic at the best of times, but also being in recovery the change can mean much more.

Sharing here is a great start, and allowing time is another.

I have had to move around a lot in my life, and each time, I feel like a bit of a stranger, but then as people get to know you, trust you, like you all that begins to change.

So I don't think it's just the AA that your a bit uncertain of, I think it may be a case of settling in to your new surroundings

get back to step 1 and get a new sponsor is all. take care, don't take that first drink.Journal also it helps alot when we are in pain.

my ? would be have you ever been thru the 12 steps out of the BB. If so have you ever sponsored anyone. If the answer is yes to both ? then you simply need to start activley sponsor others in your new area. By sponsorship i mean taking others thru the steps out of the BB. In my exp other than going thru the 12 steps myself so I recover the next most important thing is to pass this solution on to others thru sponsorship. When i do that a fellowship that I crave grows up aroiund me without too much difficulty. So thats what I would ask if I was your sponsor. Hope this helps
