Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I have got to face facts. I'm 61 and have lost control of my drinking and my dignity. I'm drinking to the point of throwing up and some of the things that I say when drunk are unbelievable. I have no family ties and the only people I know are alcoholics so if I stop drinking I will be lonely again. I think even other drinkers are getting tired of me now. I am so unstable when drunk but generally sensible sober. I drank reasonably for a long time but not now. I am new to this group but not DS as I used to be on the PTSD site a lot. Today is day 1 and tomorrow is my first meeting.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

The best place to start would be with your family doctor who will evaluate you and discuss available treatment options. Good luck!
God Bless
I'm sure you will be a good support again as you were in the other groups.
The first day is usually the easiest for me then after a while I think I can handle drinking again. This is what made me face I need help.
My sister has a long term alcohol problem and I finally had to cut things off with her, because anything I did just got turned around to support the drinking. I would be so tickled if she ever decided to give up drinking. I'd want to talk to her every day and be a positive support. Maybe someone in your family feels the same way.
