You mean they have "Fall" in Texas? So do the needles fall of the catus or what?

It is so pretty I agree-this is the first time in my adult life that I actually am enjoying it. WHen I was drinking, I dreaded winter and fall was just an indication that the awful weather was coming. Now I savor the moment. I am so excited too about Halloween this year! I dont know about you all, but I think a holiday that has a theme of death and people putting crap on their lawn about maiming, dying, ghouls, demons, is quite interesting and strangely fun. I am making demon cabbage patch dolls to put on sticks in front of my dwelling.......

Fall sort of makes sense but Autumn is a nonsense word!

The word autumn comes from the Old French word autompne (automne in modern French), and was later normalized to the original Latin word autumnus.[2] There are rare examples of its use as early as the 14th century, but it became common by the 16th century.

Does it have anything to do with the Autumnal equinox??? Day and night are of equal lengths, the sunlight shines directy on the equator and it signals the first day of Autumn or fall. Days get shorter and nights get longer until the Winter solstice.

I think this thread just became an almanac or an encyclopedia.
