Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I can't tell you how many times I made up my mind to quit and then decided to have just one more - never getting to a meeting. So = please get out that door and get to a meeting right now. You'll be forever happy you did.
The best of luck to you.
It's tough ... especially early on, & for people who really drank
as a way of life ... like me.
I was somewhat functional.
But, drinking & some drugging was who I was, & what I did.
The good news ... as tough a time as I had sticking to NOT
drinking & using ... IF I HAD FOLLOWED MOST OF THE
SUGGESTIONS GIVEN ME ... it would have been so much
easier ... and I would have gotten better so much faster.
So, try extra hard from the start ... it'll be well worth the effort.
It's taken some getting used to ... but I'd never trade what I have
now ... for my old life ... NEVER ... NEVER ... NO WAY !
There's a part of you ...
( your disease ... or whatever you choose to call it ) ...
that will sometimes whisper ... sometimes scream ...
get out of this meeting ... run away from these new people ...
they aren't your type of people ... they aren't your friends ...
They just want you to be miserable like they are ...
cause they can't drink.
PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR DISEASE ( or that voice )
... your new friends will be the best friends you've ever had ...
... if I had found out these people were miserable & just
wanted company ... I'd be on here screaming from the
rafters ... there full of it !
I desperately wanted them ... and this whole not drinking stuff ...
to be a croc ... it's not ...
IT's THE BEST THING I"VE EVER DONE FOR ME & THE PEOPLE
AROUND ME ... BY FAR !!!
WELCOME ... we are pleased your here.
Best of luck,
Jack / j
