Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
If you have been through the 12 Step programme with a sponsor and studied the Big Book you should have learned all about this. It does not sound like that is the case from what you have written?
The best thing I did was to to find a sponsor who had had a spiritual awakening as the result of the Steps and asked her to guide me through the Steps. She did this, and as the instructions are laid out in the book. The BB is the only AA literature that gives specific guidance on how to go through the 12 Step programme.
I also find that Big Book meetings,Step meetings, working with others (carrying the message), self-examination, prayer and meditation are a great help in stopping me reverting to type for too long!
