Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Your last line was "I need something to snap me out of this" but it is ourselves who have to put in the effort and action. As you may have read in the book "the spiritual life is not a theory, we have to live it."
Fortunately there are many 12 Step fellowships that are widespread such as Narcotics Anonymous (which has its own literature) and Cocaine Anonymous (which uses AA's "Big Book")
I wish you health and freedom, it is attainable.
You weren't ready before, perhaps you are now!

I know it's hard to do that but it can be done, I had to do it and I got the sobriety I was looking for.

Detox, rehab and NA /AA. Nothing will change until you take action.
Hon - just take yourself to a meeting and sit there. You don't have to do a thing - just be there and hopefully listen. Do this for days - to weeks - to months and I promise you - your life will change for the better.
Just get yourself there - the miracle will happen - it's just a matter of showing up for awhile - until the desire to go to meetings comes to you.
You're only 26 and you have a lot of years left. I think it is actually great that you know you can't drink this early in your life. You have a head start - of sorts.
You have not failed - you have just taken a detour for awhile - a detour that could have ended badly but here you are - that's a good thing.
Take care of yourself.
There in lies the insanity. We KNOW what to do...we hate ourselves because we know better....
Don't drink or use and go to meetings.....it's simple but not ez Chris....
I've done this...admit that you don't have any answer...that you are done...that you are not capable of helping yourself...then ask them to drag your ass out to a meeting...sit there, listen...and then do it again, and again and again.....in other words...surrender.
I feel for you.....
I am only an alcoholic, so I don't have experience with the drugs. But I am with XJ on this one - perhaps detox is the safest way to snap out of it...safely. Then hit some meetings. Things clearly get worse, never better.
I wish you the best.
