Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

They are DREAMS (or nightmares as I find mine to be) and guess what? I wake up! Don't YOU?
That's when you are able to say HEY, IT'S NOT REALITY!
Be happy about it and stop questioning WHY.
If you wake up and drink because of a dream, well then you got a problem.
There's nothing that has to be read into it or psychoanalyzed for God's sake.
It a DREAM!
God, I have to leave this place. I haven't read a post that hasn't irritated the crap out of my in a LONG time! :)
My fault.
But I really DO mean it when I say, isn't it GREAT to wake up and find that ALL it was was just a dream (nightmare?)
Or doesn't that make you happy?
Not that you can't accept that you're an alcoholic but that you can't accept the fact that you have thoughts about drinking. Not accepting drinking thoughts by trying to forget about them or pushing them down may have the affect of those thoughts seeking expression in your dreams.
What to do? Realize first of all that your thoughts are not going to harm you and that you don't create most of your thoughts-they just happen. As they come up into consciousness, just observe them and allow them to be there, but don't give them any importance. Give them very little emphasis. In this way, you are accepting them and they get to have their moment of expression and won't need to come back to haunt you in the middle of the night.
