Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I remember when I was in outpatient treatment, there was a woman in my group who was there for alcoholism and she was in an abusive relationship with her husband who was a very respected doctor. I think I was the only person who knew this doctors name at the time, and I respected her wishes to not harm his reputation but there are many spouses who have husbands that have two personalities....a kind, professional persona...and the one they change into at home when they beat up on the wife for not having dinner ready, or for something similar. It doesn't take much. so they are afraid to say anything through fear of not being believed.
My ex wife's father was like that. and despite the pleas of family and friends, she allowed the abuse to continue for 25 more years before she divorced him and they call that "the battered wife syndrome".
Domestic violence is a very real and terrifying thing and there is usually no easy way out.
God Bless
