Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
You remind me of the jay walker in the Big Book. I hope you realise this is serious.
situation, I'm probably a Alcoholic

Wow, denial is not the word!!! Yours is probably etched in stone somewhere!
My 2 cents worth.......
1. Chuck out all the booze
2. Give the clubs a miss until you're under control
3. Campral reduces cravings which I'm sure you must have. If you can get it use it.
4. Not drinking for 6 days means nothing, which is about as much as you have proved.
5. The fuzzy feeling when you wake up is probably caused by all the demons in your head celebrating on having such an easy mission!
6. After reading your post several times, I'm really not sure if you want to give up drinking or not
7. If you have been in therapy for 10 weeks and only have 6 days dry why do you bother with therapy?
If you want to stop then make the effort.
If you don't then don't, it is after all your decision.

If you aren't craving too bad, then don't bother with the Campral. If you don't do anything though to combat the cravings that may get you later, like going to AA, getting a sponsor, learning to Want to not drink, then you may want to start taking it.
I've learned to have fun without alcohol in the picture, and I REMEMBER everything! I'm a black out drunk, so recalling a memory now is cool.
Hopefully you don't have to hit a 'bottom' in order to realize that you just can't drink like 'normal' people. That's if you think you're an alcoholic. I wouldn't call you one without you calling yourself one first. (o;
Best to you and congrats on staying sober! It's the better way to live!
If you're not having cravings, I agree with rainbow...may not need the campral. I only took it for one month and felt I didn't need it, plus if I remember correctly, you had to take like 12 pills a day or something like that.
If you drank a lot for a long period of time, you'll probably feel fuzzy in the mornings for a while, your body will take some time to adjust just as your mind will.
Good luck to ya!
You are wasting your time and money in therapy unless you are willing to be completely honest with your therapist. I'm not going to try to convince you of what you already know is true, but I'm certainly not going to help you lie to yourself by saying you don't have a problem. When I got sober I quit pissing in the wind I realized it made me wet and smelly.
The real question is how low do you have to go to admit it.
Do we have to put dirt over you or are you willing to surrender.
The choice is yours.
Once we lose control , as Okiyoe1 said , there are only two questions left.
1) How many not yets will it take
2) Will we survive long enough to get there.
Unfortunetly, recovery is not for all those who need it, it's for those who want it.
I hope you choose to be one of us!
