Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Hang in there and take it one day at a time. And yes putting it into perspective to keep your feet on the ground so to speak is a good idea.
I'm only a few days ahead of you (approaching day 50) and I feel so much better already. I still crave alcohol and I probably always will to some extent. But I also know my life will be so much better sober. I wish you all the best in your recovery :-)
Well done and keep up the good work.
It is natural to think about drinking but these thoughts will come less often as you get more and more sober days. The way to deal with it is to dismiss the thought from your mind immediately and to think about something else, a bit like switching the TV channel.
When you go to the meeting tomorrow night, try to arrive early and leave late. Use the time before and after the meeting to get to know some other members, especially other ladies. Exchange telephone numbers with some of those people and you can call them for support or meet up for a coffee at any time.
Loneliness is a dangerous little feeling. Cravings for alcohol come and go; I can now feel them, acknowledge them and let them fade away, FINALLY.
Stay strong and proud.
