Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

How could I have let alcohol back in? I managed over 9 months of sobriety last year with no problem. I did Christmas and New Year with no problem and felt proud. Then little by little I had a glass of wine here and there - the first one because I was anxious - the others because it was a 'special occasion' Then it became every Saturday night and last weekend every night ending up with over half a bottle of wine, having lost control of myself!
So here I am back at square one. Sad, tearful, lonely, angry and feeling like a fool to have been seduced by the devil again.
Thank goodness for Daily Strength!

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

First you are no fool, it's not a moral thing it's a difference in the way you process alcohol. See I was always the first to start and the last to finish. Most normal ppl get sleepy and tired when they drink. Not me. I get wound up. And I always overdid it.
You can and will get it just keep trying
1-2
I can totally relate to what you say as that used to be me too. I guess it's the memories of the fun times that create the obsession for more, although the truth is that I felt so much better when I wasn't drinking!
I agree with 1-2, This is not a moral thing, You are not a fool. Just a victim of this disease called alcoholism.
Welcome back. Dust yourself off and start again on the road of sobriety.
Today I am not as sad and I feel stronger and more determined than ever. It is now day 4. I am thinking of going to my first AA meeting tomorrow night. I feel fear about this but I think I need to meet others who understand me to increase and reinforce my support network.
You are all superheroes in my book!
"It's not how many times you fall, it's how many times you get up."
You aren't a fool. You're human, like all of us.
Square one is better than no square at all.
I'm proud of you.
Hugs~

Love to you all in this thread - you are all helping to clear my clouds away x
Letting go of all my negative emotions were important in keeping the communication link open between myself and my Higher Power.
God Bless!
