Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Its been 11 days since I last had anything to drink. I have a cold but feel better I've been wavering between good and bad days but I am still going. It's odd though no body around me wants to talk about it or anything to do with my drinking they all just want me to be "normal" or "ok" which is odd to me but I get it they all hurt to and I've caused them pain. It makes it harder to recover when you can see the hurt plain on their faces. I suppose it should make it easier but it's a tigger of mine to run away from the people I've hurt because the guilt of being the reason they hurt is to much because I never endeavored to hurt anyone. But I have and sorry just doesn't seem enough this time

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

First of all, well done on 11 days sober and may you have many more.
You will probably find that other people are quick to forgive once they see that you are making a genuine effort. Sometimes, the bigger problem is forgiving yourself. As you say, sorry is not enough and your actions will speak louder than words.
When I stopped drinking, I discovered that the drinking was only a symptom of other things that were wrong in my life. When I had tried everything else and failed, I went to AA meetings, which was the last place on earth that I wanted to go to. However, after going to meetings for a while, I discovered the most amazing opportunity to change my whole life. Although I didn’t really understand too well what I was doing at the time, I followed the suggestions of people who were sober for a long time and it really did work.
You too can make changes that will make a huge difference to the rest of your life. However, it is not easy to do it alone and outside help is often required. You can turn sad into happy but it takes willingness and work.
