Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I remember the first time I really had a good belly laugh I was still in rehab hadnt had a drink for 2 weeks. I was in this AA meeting at the hospital a bloke named Bob was sharing.
His story hit the core of my stomach and heart .I wasnt laughing at him but with him and if you didnt laugh you probably would have cried for hours.
I guess its hard to explain to others but I laughed until there were tears coming out of my eyes. And from that time I have had many good belly laughs and some at my own expense.
I remember a time when I walked around with a permanent frown on my face I frowned that much I bleed at times across the bridge of my nose. And if I came home from work with a smile on my face the first thing my wife would say is your been drinking.
The French have a proverb.
A day without laughter is a Day lost.
I also have an affirmation written and stuck to the fridge that says.
If your not happy today, then what are you waiting for.
,
And if I get out of the wrong side of bed some mornings when I see that it brings a smile to my face.
God Bless
Lionel
When I was drinking, I'd laugh AT people and WITH myself. Now I laugh WITH people and AT myself. Laughter has enriched my life. So much better to piss myself laughing. :}
It's all good!
The last time i remember laughing like that was when i was 7yrs old and my mum come home and told me that she see a red nose on the front of the a car. It was red nose day that year. Lol
