Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I would drink through the day and night and most weekends I would drink pass out, come too in some park in some strangers bed at some railway station at the end of the line or in the local lockup at all hours of the night then have to find my way home . Broke, cold, sick and sorry.
Or I would drink enough alcohol to put an elephant to sleep and I would still come too in the front yard of my house the neighbours house the kitchen floor or the lounge having a panic attack thinking if I closed my eyes I would die so there was no rest.
I have always waken early ( lucky I spelt that right and didnt put an n in) it goes back to when I was young growing in an alcoholic home between 4-5 in the morning was my time everyone else was passed out. I would make a cup of tea and listen to music on the radio.
It was also very hard for me to sleep early in recovery there was still to much happening in my head. But with the help of tapes AA and meditation I found I was sleeping a little longer and if I woke through the night I could just roll to the other side and go straight back to sleep the panic attacks were gone.
I am still not a great sleeper but I can have a nana nap I listen to my body an can take time to rest I sometimes wish I could sleep like other members of the family especially my son but that s not how it is for me.
What about you before and after is there a difference what have you done.

Learning my limitations in recovery has been a challenge. I'm with Denny. My body lets me know how much I can do today. I won't say I've gotten smarter. I will say I've grown wiser thanks to experience. You see, I don't do physical pain very well anymore. I do too much on any given day and I feel it for 4 days!
I love that, leap tall buildings at a single bound,
Reminded me of something I used to say ."Without alcohol I was Clark Kent but when I drank alcohol to me was like a phone booth to Clark Kent I would turn into Superman. lol.
Something like that.
God Bless...
