Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I found that as a grow, as I become the person I aspire to be, I can look at my past as perfect...I become who I am today...because of the experiences I have lived through and the attitudes I choose to take about those experiences.
Perhaps we must discover who we are not in order to appreciate who we are. Just a individuals path to enlightenment.
Would we understand LIGHT if there were no Darkness...?)))))))
I try to move on, if those that I hurt in the years of my drunken fog love me today, then I can love me too.
Try not to dwell on it and let it bring you down. Start over......now. Hope you're feelin better today. :)
After six years sober and going through the work a few times, it doesn't happen so much, anymore.
Talking about it with a professional can help to take some of the power out those things for you - the rest goes gradually!
I have found that after following a few simple rules those moments are few and far between and anyway I have the opportunity to clean up that past, not just talk about it.
Prayer is wonderfully effective in those moments too - truly miraculous.
I think we are all insecure but with each sober day that passes we are growing. This is why I am keen to get moving with the steps, I want to have what I read so much about on here. Now I just have to get my sponsor to move haha
I read something a while back on here - 'it took every drink I had to be where I am today' and I believe that too.
