Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Once you get over that first hurdle and go to a meeting youll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner. The best way I can describe the feeling is that it was like having a huge load lifted from the shoulders.
If youre nervous about going on your own look up AA in your area and give them a call. They should be able to arrange for a female member to meet you and bring you to a meeting.
You asked where you get ahold of the Big Book of AA.
As I'm sure a lot of us know - almost anything and everything is available through Amazon and so is the Big Book of AA.
Here is a link for you to access the Big Book at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=The+Big+Book+of+Alcoholics
If you do get the Big Book - please read Chapter 3. It was the most important portion of the book for me when I first got sober. It deals with all of the ways we try to control our drinking so that we can drink like normal people.
Good luck.
