This has truly been the weekend from hell! I have been bed ridden since Friday due to Sciatica. I haven't had a flare up in months. Oh man, I have never wanted a drink more than I have these past three days.
I'm looking at this as some kind of test. So far I'm passing but it's not easy. Alcoholic Beth thinks a drink would definitely stop the pain. I know it's not worth it and will make it through today and the next and the next...

Had an emergency surgery to save my life, sober. Incredible pain prior to it, and the crazy thing is I didnt once think of drinking. That said i was INCREDIBLY grateful for the IV pain meds pre surgery. And I took some pain meds post surgery for a few days.
Talk to your DR. Tell him/ her you don't want anything addictive but ask what else you can take or can do.

Dianna, I am doing my best to keep my attitude positive and have a sense of humor about the whole thing. I had OMT (Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment) yesterday and it relieved some of the Sciatica. If you have it again, check out OMT.
I'm still sober so all the rest in manageable.
