Choices

It's not as difficult as it may first appear to confront fear and anger with love and understanding.

The decision to do so is the first step.

Making this decision every morning is the second step.

Observing the success of this choice every night is the third.

Nothing will ever be the same again when we make this a daily practice.

i have a choice, gim, with the first 2 steps but when i worked the 3rd i gave the choice over to the higher power of my understanding. i have choices that i did not have before but never, ever, a choice in drink. that disappeared when i crossed that line and gave my power up to something bigger asnd stronger than i.

i have choices but no choice in drugs and/or drink. in that, i am powerless and will remasin so till the end of life....

i accept that. devon

p.s. it is more than a fair trade-off.......

The choice to do all three of what you mention in my life is a part of my sobriety. I choose to pray and trust in my God, no longer away, but towards. The third where I choose to reflect on the day can bring lessons, and also plenty of gratitude. I'm glad to be making better choices than what I used to that's for sure.

It's true for me that I'm either acting out of fear or out of love.

It took me a long time to realize that no matter how spiritual I tried to be that I, as a human being, would still get angry at times. The big difference is, for me, that as I come to accept myself as a human being, with all my flaws, the less fearful I am, thus, capable of acting out of love and less prone to anger as a knee jerk reaction.

That has everything to do with living God's will for me. That is another gift to me.

Di, I'm with you on the fear since we both know are disease is fear based. We are all human and capable of making bad choices but the key today at least we can identity what were doing and correct what ever the issue is. Just came back from a early morning meeting and the "gift" your talking about is what I shared.
