Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Please rethink your current strategy. You've already proven you can't stay sober on your own. You really don't have to drink if you don't want to. No one can get you drunk, YOU do that. When you really decide you want to stop, maybe your attitude about AA will change. Until then, I hope you don't kill yourself or someone else behind the wheel. The breathalyzer won't be effective as long as there are people who have friends who will blow for them. Best of Luck.
Hopefully your rock bottom isn't too much further down there -
Peace

The one idea that helped get me sober was... that all of my previous ideas had only gotten me drunk: Not going to AA - got me drunk. Not drinking before noon- got me drunk, before noon.
I didn't want to go to AA because it seemed extremely UNCOMFORTABLE. "That's not for me!"
But I discovered that if I was comfortable with something, it's because it was the same crap I had been doing- and i knew what those results would be! If I was uncomfortable with something, it was because I didn't know what the results would be... so I might as well try it because maybe the results would be better. And they have been.
There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorancethat principle is contempt prior to investigation.

Then when responsible drinking is impossed on me , l go along with the flow, but those cravings eeeeek!!!!
Its like l can do it when lm in the company of others, but when alone. I cant trust myself, One drink is to much, and One thousand is not enough
I feel like such a loser, l feel that l should not have said that no-one understands me.
Someone please tell me what happens at an AA meeting, what goes on
, please dont be harsh on me. Im scared l will die from liver disease, I was born into a family of alcoholics (on my fathers side) they are all dead. I never met any of them. My father l did not grow up with.
WTF have i inherited some alcoholic shit gene
You'll hopefully hear what alcoholism is and what it is not. People will recount their life experiences and how they recovered. At the end of the meeting if someone is available and preferably of the same sex then ask them to sponsor you and show you what the AA program of recovery is all about.
Either way if your desperate enough you'll do everything and anything to get sober, lets face it you did anything and everything to get drunk! Good luck and if you need any advice there are lots of people on here who can give it to you.
I think dontread has a good idea- go for a medical detox. You begin to see things differently when you're sober though- trust me on that.
2 weeks later, I decided I didn't care who knew! I knew 2 things, 1-that I had to detox because I was tired of being sick all the time and 2-I did NOT WANT TO DIE!
The hardest phone call I've ever made in my life was to my sister at midnight to ask her to take me to the ER, when she asked "why?" I told her and her response was "but honey, I thought you said you hadn't been drinking this weekend?" and I could think of no other answer except the truth "I lied".
She picked me up and drove me, I checked into a detox facility right after the ER got some IV fluids in me.
You CAN do it when you've had enough and nothing else matters to you except your life. Good luck to you...
What do they do in a medical detox, can anyone tell me.
Thanks you are all very helpful
