Wanted to share my journal entry and my pride that my subject line was not vodka and tonic take me away!
"Gee Whiz! I know now that God has a sense of humor because of all the obstacles he has put in my way in these first three days with the alcohol crutch! Day 1, easy breezy, Day 2, are you kidding me....I am not supposed to drink to drown out my uncontrollable stepfamily? Day 3 I am not supposed to drink to relax the tension in my neck after having an insubordinate employee threaten me with a lawsuit because I wrote her up for rolling her eyes at me and making an ass of herself during a unit meeting??!! Thankfully, my answer is no...I am not supposed to drink and I am not going to drink. So take that Laughing"

My aa group is full of ppl just like me, ppl that have been just where I am at a particular moment and how they got thru it.
I understand your worry of anonimity and I was the exact same way. but I couldnt have stayed sober ( and happy ) for over a year alone. and ps my anonomity is very important to me and I have never been outed...
the thing is, I would be able to 'not drink' but i was very unhappy.
my aa buddies just let me share any problems and when i share they become less.
I dont tell you you should go but I will tell you that I would be drunk and in a much worse off place than I am today if I didnt go.

ps just think about how this site is a help and consider the fact that there are ppl in your town that want to help you get sober. GL!!
