From my exp. I know I had to be humble to do this recovery deal--And you?

I learned humility by getting my ass kicked enough times and realizing MY thinking is essentially flawed.

I hear ya my friend. When I found out I had a thinking problem way before the drinking it put a lot of things into perspective.

When I found out the thinking problem persisted after the drinking problem was gone; that put a lot of things in perspective too :)

Humility is a strange thing, the second you think you've got it, you have lost it.

LD, Sorry to hear that's you experience, its not mine ( most of the time) From my exp. I had to be humble enough to do all the steps or it wasn't going to happen.

I love hearing people such as yourself, always boasting about how humble they are. Telling of all the ways they are humble. And all the ways and in all the things in which they found humility. Simply making this thread is an example of how humility is still something far off.

Don't ya just hate it when you're trying hard to out someone else, but only out yourself. It's embarrassing.........and humbling.

Oh I am completely comfortable with the fact that I will only ever, at best, see glimpses of humility. I know for a fact that I will NEVER "get this." I am comfortable being me. I do not need to brag about how awesomely humble I am. I see no point in it and you are absolutely right, you look like a friggin' moron when you do. Come to think of it, I think that was my point exactly. Thanks :)

I have just enough humility to know that I need it. I am getting there little by little. Unfortunately for me, pain and failure is what brings me closer to humble. Seeing the humility of others helps too.
