Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

In my 3 plus years of sobriety, I have never craved a drink or a drug more then I do right now!
First, I had to send my little girl to doggy heaven, was having a rough time dealing with it and then I lost my cell phone on top of that. Was down to our last $65 dollars in out checking account and had to decide weather to pay car insurance or purchase a refil on a prescription med I am taking and I decided to pay the car insurance....wife just started a new job and has to travel quite a distance to work so figured that's more important.
My wife says she hates the month of October. We lost 2 dogs, her mom past away, and she had surgery. Let's see, can't think what else but that's enough anyway.
I need a drink!

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Agreed, sometimes shitty things happen. It's not enough to pick up a drink. You might not think so, but there are people way worse off than you are and taking it in stride knowing all is well. You can't have faith just when times are good and everything is going your way. Gotta have it when times are tough.
How are things going with meetings, sponsor, step work, fellowship? Gotta keep busy with this stuff, Bob. It's a lifetime deal we live one day at a time. Keep it in the day.
Hugs to you, my friend.
A drink I've found causes all bets to be called off .
Meeting 's , step work and long talks with close friends have helped me to see many things . But if all were just boring I would not see the need to look at .

A long timer that I knew that just passed always used to say it I take that 1st drink I might as well throw every possession I have out the window because surely it will be gone in a short time.
Use the tools you where taught.
Drinking is not the answer...no way...might seem it could help however look to the other side of that tunnel your looking into thinking of a drink...there is light there...stay sober and reach the light...
think to the light in the tunnel bob it is sobriety all the way to the other side of tunnel
Thanks for all your wisdom and support!
As Coogee and others have said - stay connected. And I sympathize with you over your dog. I had to do the same thing earlier in the year. It's hard, but I'm sure you gave her a good life, and she gave you many good memories. It's okay to be sad about it for awhile.
All this other stuff will pass.
I am so sorry about your loss. I still mourn a dog I had to put down 10 years ago-he was my soulmate in fur form.
Grieve, it is hard but it is life.
Anyway, I found my cell phone! It was in the washing machine! For some reason, water and cell phones don't mix but I have another cheap one on the way. Thanks for listening.. TC
