Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I don't take meds.
It is a known fact that bi-polar is widely misdiagnosed.
To those that have it I am not trying to be offensive about the disorder at all.
It's a sad disorder.
I believe my point was for addicts to be honest with their doctor so they wouldn't be misdiagnosed.
Get it?
The cool part is that you see this! Now you can take steps to improve it! I have never had the problem you are having. I had quite the opposite. I used to struggle with self worthlessness. No one would have guessed because I am a very out going individual.
You may be having an episode w/ bp. It happens. If this is the case, I wouldn't size yourself up with your thoughts right now. I would call your pdoc and tell him your concerns. Monitor it as best as you can. But again, call your doc for some support with this.
Good luck friend
sad facts is is that most arent they are just suffering from untreated alcoholism till that is solved the meds only mask the real problem. I know many a recovered alki when they were new in aa docs said they were bipolar they did the steps and there not anymore. explain that if you can.
I experienced it.
Perhaps apologise to the teacher about your arrogant attitude, admitting it was arrogant with insincere motives behind it and listen to what they have to say and move on.
Perhaps meetings are a good idea. Why not try the steps? You seem to be quite open to spiritual practice anyway.
Namaste baba!
Some though have the mood disorder-and there is so many different ways to treat it. If this is you, it is really not a bad thing. You are in a way lucky as it is treatable. I think that Whoo is right that too many meds are passed out without in depth knowledge-but this is disregarding that maybe there are those who NEED them.
Sumital, I would say don't throw away the idea that all BP meds have bad side effects.
I would re-think this. I have depression and it is bad with my hormonal cycle-get down a week before my period. I take prozac for this and it helps. Big deal, I say. Whatever works-
SHeez, I don't know you but if I was to get out my DSM and be a freakin psychologist the symptoms are there my friend. You should go see a doc who specializes in addictions.
Having a high sex drive is fine-sounds like you are impulsive with it and that can be problematic btw.
Phew that was a rant, hope I could be of help. Don't want to see you drink again sumital.
