Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
The craziest thing an alcoholic can ever do, and that I would ever do would be done SOBER. And that's pick up that first drink.
So....in early sobriety don't put yourself in harms way. Don't go out to dinner with drinking friends if you arent in a position to be neutral toward booze. For me that meant having an exit plan for all social events well into early sobriety. In fact I still have one. If I go to a party where I know there will be heavy boozing...I drive. I give myself permission in advance to leave if I feel uncomfortable. My sobriety must come first. Always.
