my doctor was the first person I went to for help really. They did a lot of blood tests and as I had been drinking well over 100 units weekly for 10 years they told me to expect there to be some liver damage.
Apparently 0-55 is normal
then the higher it goes the heavier a drinker you have been or more damage you have done.
My deceased Aunts was 450 or so at one stae and currently a friend of the family had hers come in at 600+ as she went into treatment.
So I was braced for the results - mine was only 16. Both myself and the doctor were surprised. And all my vitamins/iron etc were satisfactory.
I do take a vitamin everyday but the only thing I can think of is my water intake. You are advised to drink 8 glasses of water a day but for the last 2-3 years I have drank a minimum of 4litres - 6litres a day. I love my water.
I am wondering if i have flushed the damage out?
Has anyone else found out their number or especially found it to be low???

There are a number of liver function tests and measures - I am afraid I know of none whose normal range is 0-55
The most importnat re liver damage is the Serum Gamma GT Level; the normal range is 7-43 - mine is currently sitting at 86 but was 173
