Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Just seems to me, in my experience, that if you're still fighting, the conflict is between you and you. Did you admit complete defeat in Step 1? Sure doesn't sound like it.
Seems the whole story hasn't been told here. Whatever your opinion of AA is, please find some program that will work for you. Best wishes.
Also AA isnt the only recovery path out there. There are many. If AA doesnt work for you, or you arent working AA, then try something else.
What exactly are you being told you are doing wrong?
Dan
I had shared this with someone and this person said "to take what I need and leave the rest." And if you don't like what someone says, that is okay.
I also read a book called by Charlotte Kasl which explained the positive and negatives of the 12 Step program and different programs. It helped me to realize that no program is perfect.
But in my case, AA. seems to work because I am still sober.
Congratulations on 7 months and I wish you many many more!
