Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Or just alcoholics in general.. what do you guys do for fun? I stepped out of the partying scene because it's an unhealthy atmosphere for me to be in. It's been kind of boring lately.. considering I got rid of the majority of my friends (using friends).. :(

lina i understand how u feel. its hard being young and expected to go out and party and not really wanting to be in that environment. i'm 24, but i'm a kid @ heart. so for fun i play video games (love the wii!), watch movies, read and stuff like that. i left a lot of my friends behind too. i know it could get kinda lonely. but a plus side is that you get to learn a lot about yourself.

I am a 20 year old alcoholic. I have been sober for 2 weeks today, and i agree it is very boring sometimes. I also have stopped partying and going to pubs because it would be too tempting for me. You need to find something that you really enjoy, and friends that are uplifting and fun (that dont drink). I still see my friends who drink, but only in a non-drinking atmosphere and they are very supportive of me not drinking, if they werent they wouldnt be real friends. Its hard, so congrats for making the decision. What makes you laugh and smile? (besides alcohol)

I picked up learning guitar and piano even some violin i paint randomly or go for walks its little stuff but it can be fun sometimes too i go to shows with some good friends that i have just recently made into my life i go to art shows and meet cool people there theres always cool people at coffee shops and stuff like that it's not drinking but i guess that's the point just find things you really like to do and embrace them just kinda refind who you are. Best of luck and don't give up! i know what it's like to have to let go all of your using friends but in the long run i figured out most of them would trade me over a bottle of vodka anyday! best of luck sweetheart!

i am 27 , i don't know if i still qualify as young i feel old, but i am in the exact same situation. this is one of the reasons past attempts to quit have failed for me, i simply don't know what else to do.

I'm 29 and making my journey, best advice is go to as mant A.A. meetings as U an, I've learned so much already, and I'm only 12 days sober, But I see things more clearly now, and I take it moment by moment. I keep myself busy by doing things I'm not used to doing, to retrain my brain, and deter my cravings or saddness if it arrises
