Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

The serenity prayer asks us to accecpt the answers that God hands down to us with acceptance even if his answer is not to our liking. And realizing the wisdom of that answer. Accepctance of his direction is one thing following that directtion takes action on our part willngly.realizing his widom with a degree of humility and serenity. The whole point on both makes reference to our powerlessness. After all it was our own best thinking that earned us a seat in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous Thats my take on it anyway. Greg
I have to be aware that I am to constantly test what is the difference between my will and God's will for me. I don't have much natural wisdom in that department so I need to ask God to give me some.
So in both the Serenity Prayer and pracising Step 11 (also 10 and 12) all I am really asking - all the time - is God, what will you have me do? What will you have me be? What will you have me say? Will you give me the power to overcome my limitations so that I can do your will and see it clearly, please?
Step 11 is so important because unless I develop a close personal relationship with God as I understand Him, I can never grow in understanding and knowledge in a spiritual life. I talk to God all the time, but that's just me.
