Good Morning to all well morning here.lol
Prayer is a big part of my recovery just one i found on the net a little different than the ones I used when drinking especially with the hangover from hell. "O God never again." The alcoholics prayer.lol which lasted until next time.
And the one i used on the steps of the courthouse ."If You get me out of this i will never do it again." which also lasted until the next time
Anyway here it is do you notice anything about it..

The Remind Me Prayer
Dear God, Help us remember that the
jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is likely a
single mother who worked nine hours that day and is
rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do
the laundry and spend a few precious moments with
her children.
Help us to remember that the pierced,
tattooed, disinterested young man who can't make
change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college
student, balancing his apprehension over final exams
with his fear of not getting his student loans for
next Term.
Remind us, God, that the scary looking bum,
begging for money in the same spot every day (who
really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions
that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.
Help us to remember that the couple
walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and
blocking our shopping progress are savoring this
moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she
got back last week, this will be the last year that
they go shopping together.
Higher Power, remind us each day that, of
all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is
love. It is not enough to share that love with those
we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who
are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow
to judge and quick to forgive, show patience,
empathy and love.

If being born is a sentence of death being sober and living a day at a time is the best way of making every day inbetween count.
I have always had a measure of fear of the 3rd.Step.
My perception of giving up my favorite area of cheating and turning over control to God who would never approve of my way of doing things was never an attractive instruction.
What I didn't know (and still don't fully) is that some perceived pleasures and shortcuts are more expensive than they seem.
Today to protect myself from the first drink I have to ask for the ability to live within the confines of what is OK and what is not OK.
Anyway how was I doing before asking God to give me a hand?
Not very well.
I had been demoted to a factory floor job cleaning oily sawdust with a wheelbarrow and putting down fresh sawdust.
I didn't have the gumption to know they wanted me to leave until I got fired from that job.
While typing, this note is probably clarifying things for me.
Like why should I be afraid to let God run my present and future.

This sounds a bit like me.
Emotions can be dealt with by motion. Lord, when I feel controlled by feelings and complaints, help to get me up and get me moving to change my disposition even if it's something simple like stretching or organizing something or starting something I've been putting off.

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow
There are two days in every week that we should not worry about, two days that should be kept free from fear and apprehension.
One is yesterday, with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed, forever beyond our control.
All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed. Nor can we erase a single word we've said - yesterday is gone!
The other day we shouldn't worry about is tomorrow, with its impossible adversaries, its burden, its hopeful promise and poor performance. Tomorrow is beyond our control.
Tomorrow's sun will rise either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds
- but it will rise. And until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unborn.
This leaves only one day - today. Any person can fight the battles of just one day. It is only when we add the burdens of yesterday and tomorrow that we break down.
It is not the experience of today that drives people mad - it is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday, and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us, therefore, live one day at a time!

23rd Psalm of Recovery
The Lord is my sponsor, I shall not want.
He makes me to go to many meetings.
He leads me to sit back, relax & listen with an open mind.
He restores my soul, my sanity & my health.
He leads me in the path of sobriety, serenity & fellowship for my own sake.
He teaches me to think, to take it easy, to live & let live & do first things first.
He makes me more humble & grateful.He teaches me to accept the things I cannot change, to change the things I can & gives me the wisdom to know the difference.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of despair, frustration, guilt & remorse, I will fear no evil.
For Thou are with me, your program, your way of life, your twelve steps, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: rationalization, fear, anxiety, self-pity, resentment.
You anoint my confused mind & jangled nerves with knowledge, understanding & hope.
