Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

For me starting was never the problem. Stopping was always the problem. Sometimes stopping when the bottle was empty. Other times stopping meant going into blackout an into pass out.
Yes, I am a self-diagnosed alcoholic. Probably always will be. But I can change, have changed & will continue to change. I have decided to no longer seek rock bottom, challenge the police to catch me DUI, or worse, inflict harm on innocent others.
My recent path has been meditation and readings on the Buddha. That is my selected spiritual path and recent results are promising. But they will not change the bottom line. I relinquish self-control at the first sip.
May you find your peace.
I asked him "Do you think I have a problem?". He replied "There's nothing wrong with having a few drinks". Looking back, he was slovenly, with shirt mainly tucked out, wrinkled and he sweat like a horse. Hmmmm.... I'd bet the farm today that he had a problem like us.
Besides, I just went to him to get permission to continue my hellish journey for another 8 yrs. The booze stopped working for me. Desperation saved my life. Desperate to not live like that anymore. Is the booze still working for you?
