Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Two often I focus on the negative. I was going through some old journal entries and I came across this one entry, so thought I would repost here.
My sponser sent me this and I wanted to share it with all of my friends!
I am thankful for==================I am thankful for . . .
The partner who hogs the covers every night, because he/she is not out with someone else.
The teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching tv, because that means he/she is at home and not on the streets.
For the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.
For the mess to clean after a gathering, because it means that I have been surrounded by friends andloved ones.
For the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat.
For my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am in the sunshine.
For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home.
For all the complaining I hear about the government, because it means that we have freedom of speech.
For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.
For my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm.
For the lady behind me in church who sings off key, because it means that I can hear.
For the pile of laundry and ironing, because it means I have clothes to wear.
For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I have been capable of working hard.
For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means that I am alive.
And finally . . .For too much e-mail, because it means I have friends who are thinking of me.
When you think your life is so bad, read this again.~Author Unknown~
God Bless
PS I would love it if anyone can add to this list!

Alcohol made him feel more comfortable in social settings, but over time, his drinking spiraled out of control. By his mid-40s, he recognized that he had an addictive...

That sentiment reminded me of another instance when I was complaining to L about my old (built 1923) house that is in much need of major repairs and a good top to bottom cleaning. She replied that she doesn't see an old tumble-down dirty house, she sees a home full of love.
Once again proving, it's all in the way you look at things - all about attitude.
An attitude of gratitude.
