Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
We don't have any kids, so I don't have to worry about that.
I usually only bring up an issue or talk to him when he is not drinking. We have good days and bad days. We will get along fine for a few days maybe even a week. But then he gets on edge and goes into super defensive mode. That's when I can't talk to him about anything, not even ask him where he parked the car or talk about what movies are out without him finding a way to turn the conversation into saying mean things to me or blaming me for something (then I get roped into defending my self for no reason all over again).
Anyway... we've been on a vacation for the past 6 days and most of the time he was drinking. In a nice mood but drinking. Of course a turn off to me because he's usually in his own world when he drinks. I guess to him vacation and Thanksgiving was an excuse to suck down bottles of beer. Great, now I'm totally looking forward to Christmas with my mom who will be staying with us and my beer chugging husband - not. He flew back home this morning meanwhile I'm staying one more day here. I fly back tomorrow.
As soon as I get back I'm going to find out when and where the next Alanon group is. I was trying to look up the information while we were packing and getting ready to go but he kept walking in on me and I had to click on another website. Now that he's gone and I have a day away from him I can freely look up the information. :)
