The decision to stop the madness has to come with ACTION.

Totally agree gym - my decisions are crucial but mean nothing unless I follow them up with action. (step 3 decision followed immediately with the action of step4 for example)

I like the frogs on the lily pad example:-

There are three frogs on a lily pad, one of them makes a decision to jump off. How many frogs left on the lily pad.

The answer is not 2. It is 3 because the frogs decision counts for nothing until he follows it with the action of jumping off the pad.

Wow, how true this statement is in my life. For example, my over 5 year off and on relationship that tore me up on the inside and outside...once I decided I was done, I felt at peace. Almost the same with the wine. Now I am working on dieting to lose the 25 pounds I gained while depressed and not active. I just made up my mind to do it and I'm now doing it. Two days down, a month or so to go...LOL. It is a problem I've been needing to solve, now I've decided to DO something about it. Same with the man and the wine. Dieting is the easier task though. :-) Alice

I failed miserably with the frogs story the 1st time too gjm!! And with the decision -I thought I had made it but I was still sitting on the lily pad, as it were, waiting for somthing to happen. Next time I did it I realised I needed to jump.
