Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
It depends on the person...if you feel strong enough...try it...but If you get any sort of craving or desire for it...give it up.
Also, I've found that if you are in a social situation and don't want it to be obvious that you're not drinking...you can ask for a OJ/7-up and grenadine...it's very refreshing and looks like a fruity drink.
Dangerous thought processes. Remember, alcoholism is cunning, baffling & powerful.
I saw a program once on drugs. The patient was given a fake ingredient, instead of weed or whatever. He could still go through the motions of rolling a joint and even smoke it. That was supposed to ease his withdrawl.
I thought to myself, that's just practicing. Well the experiment didn't work and soon he was back to the real thing. For me those non alcohol drinks wouldn't work, it's just a tease.
