Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

If you aren't an alcoholic, then you simply might drink too much on occasion. Mayhaps cutting back will work. Nope, been there, done that.
Once you admit you have a problem you cannot control, then something can be done. Not until then. If his drinking is trashing your marriage, then what is the answer to getting your marriage on track? He needs to stop drinking or take his booze and play somewhere else. That was what was proposed to me. I decided that my marriage was worth more than the booze. It was and still is...
Hugs, Dennis
Just remember you can't will him sober anymore than you can "will" him purple.
Admitting that some problems are a result of his drinking is a step in the right direction. It takes time. While he is figuring out things try to take care of yourself. The only person that you can change is you. You are not happy obsessing over his drinking. Do something nice to yourself today. Perhaps you could by yourself a gift. Have the store gift wrap it. Put you focus on your happiness. He will take care of the alcoholism or not without your obsessing. It's amazing how they realize that the cart is upset when you start taking control of you life.
Seriously it has taken me sitting in the rooms saying "Hi I'm Donna and I'm an alcoholic" to honestly admit to MYSELF that I can not drink. Until I totally accepted and acknowledged that fact I always rationalized drinking and couldn't stop on my own. It didn't seem to matter that I was blacking out, drinking and driving and basically running my health and marriage into the ground.
