I was chair at my home group last night as we had 11 people celebrate NYE with a meeting. I celebrated my 27th anniversery in this great program recently . But my ego is easily kept in check when our anniversery announcements included members with 30, and 29 years respectively and 2 others in the group are over 30 plus a guy over 20. We also had a 2nd anniversery for a fellow who has fought his ass off for those 2 years.
My comment was this program worked 30 years ago, it worked 27 years ago, it worked 2 years ago and it was sure as hell working last night!

Congrats, Treadster! Same here... some with 40+ years at my meeting. Others just coming around. Lots inbetween. It does work!

Yes, my experience too. Ther are many oldtimers at my meetings and I love hearing them, and also how nice they are to me as I'm new in town - they make a habit of approaching me and shaking my hand,it's lovely.

Congrats!! D/t I too took the plunge again at a more traditional , My sponsors Home group...Male old farts on one side of the room and their better half's (wives)lol Lady old timers sit together on the other side of the room..Almost every Monday i walk out of that meeting kinda floating thinking about how to approach Honesty, Integrity or just pain ol beings part of a Home group. So many powerful examples given on the How to's...In approaching the maintenance steps 10, 11 and twelve. Or just about accepting Where you are ,staying sober and continuing to grow ....never ending story the growth part.

Awesome, Treadly! Congrats! I was chairing for NYE as well and we had a couple people picking up 1 year birthday chips. It does work, and I love sharing in the experience, whether someone is picking up a 24 hour coin or 40 years. Happy New Year to all!
