it may b possible to find explanations of spiritual experiences such as ours, but i have often tried to explain my own and have succeeded only in giving the story of it. i know the feeling it gave me and the results it has brought, but i realize i may never fully understand its deeper y and how. as bill sees it, p.313

sobriety cant b like work for me. its supposed to make me happy. thats how i get the big book. if im not happier sober than drunk i wont b sober long ( told to me by an old drug and alcohol counselor)

Great song! Yes, wouldn't be without my Big Book(s), the only book I use when I journey with someone through the 12 Steps, just like my sponsor did with me. I got a lot of dry humoured directness too (thanks for laugh from your sponsor recollection!) .

I was a bit battered when I came into AA and my thinking was delusional so I appreciated the direct pointers. No, that's not quite true... they bugged the hell out of me at the time so it's hindsight that brings the appreciation. Must do as they have stayed with me to this day and when I need some real direct direction I'm glad those people are still around.

it took me 2yrs to understand y "donny" always said "if i dont take the first drink i cant get drunk". "y does he keep saying that?" over and over? because its so true. y does "bob" keep saying? "keep coming back cause u help keep me sober". over and over? because its the key to AAs success. just my opinion of course
