I pray we never have another 9/11 or anything like it!

When the news starting coming through in the UK, I still remember the exact moment eight years ago. It was hard to take in that it was really happening. A colleague came running into my office and told me. I logged into the BBC news on my computer and saw the dreadful footage of what was happening.

Prayers for the families who were left bereaved and that those who died are at rest with God.

I think we all remember that exact moment Gailly. We woke to it on the news, and just stood there watching, frozen to the spot. As we drove to work that morning, everyone had their headlights on. You'd walk through the City, and peoples faces were just blank.

My prayers to the families. May they find peace knowing that their loved ones are in Gods care.

Its was my last stint in rehab. I was pretty foggy.

I knew families, my grandparents watched it happen from their window on Staten Island - i later learned that I live in one of the 8 targeted areas

i still feel that sinking feeling as if it was yesterday - I pray for our military and all emergency personell.

Yes prayers for sure.... I was home from work that day after throwing out my hip dancing while drunk and was high on pain pills.

I was watching the movie "Alive", the true story of the rugby team's plane crash in the mountains when a friend from work called to tell me to turn on the news. I watched live as the 2nd plane hit.....I stayed home from work the rest of the week, drunk, taking pain pills and crying uncontrollably.

That was the saddest day of my life I believe...

Prayers for all who suffered a loss..and that includes most everyone I think...

I was taking classes to be an instructor for anger management. We were all so hurt and ANGRY they had to cancel the day. Many of us just stayed.

I was cleaning out my room because my friend was supposed to bring me a new bed. They didn't show up. I finally called and asked if they were coming over or not. She asked if I had been watching tv. I said hell no I was cleaning my room. I turned on the tv and they kept showing over and over the plane hitting the twin towers. I asked if it was a movie...she said no..they had just flown our own planes into the twin towers..and then the second plane hit...The only two other events i remember like that are..president Reagan being shot and the space shuttle blowing up.

I was working for an Inventory Company at the time and we were in Enfield, Connecticut at a Sears Automotive Center doing an inventory. I was in the stockroom when a co-worker came in and mentioned that one of the towers in New York was on fire, that a reported plane hit it. I just kept on working. I took a break and when to see why I was the only one working. I saw the second hit the North Tower. I could not believe what I was seeing. Events like this happen in other countries. Israel, Middle East, I even remember the Viet Cong setting off grenades and bombs off in Saigon. Things like this do not happen in America. Yet here were the buildings burning. I was watching when suddenly the North Tower came down. The shock was too much. Then the next tower came down. That is when I got angry and wished we would hunt those responsible for this.

I too, remember Reagan getting shot, and the two shuttles being destroyed. I also remember being in the cafe having lunch in high school when news of Kennedy being shot in Texas came over the PA system. It seemed like forever that the only thing on TV was about the assassination, Oswald being shot, Kennedy's funeral. This went on forever it seemed. No school, yet we kids did not celebrate that. We were stuck in front of the TV, just like we were on 9/11. And when it happens again, we will be shocked and glued to the TV getting all the information we can and feeling sad, angry and all the emotions we felt 8 years ago.

I went to NYC in June 2007 and visited Ground Zero. It was an amazing experience to stand before it. All of us there at the time simply stared, thought and prayed. The group was completely silent, and it seemed time stood still.

Everyone I met that weekend--in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, on the subway, in Battery Park and in the taxi ride from the airport--had been touched by 9.11.01 within 2 people (2 degrees) of familiarity.

The taxi driver's sister was in the tower than was struck, was running from the building and stopped. A man came up next to her and said ,"Don't stop--keep going." She did. Good thing, because debris that fell in the next few seconds would have crushed them.

I heard those kinds of stories again and again. It was very humbling and made September 11th more real for me personally.
