Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
The way I started seeing this change in myself was subtle and gradual, but nonetheless profound. I found myself reacting to situations with acceptance - situations that previously would have had me stewing with resentment. Just a calm sense of peacefulness - so my Mom told my brother that I'm an alcoholic even though I explicity told her that I'd handle this on my own and on my own time - my reaction, to my surprise...'maybe he needed to hear it' - NOT how I'd normally react by a longshot...wierd, but cool. Keep working at it, it will come.
Hope that makes some sense. I guess my advice is to work the steps and don't move forward until YOU understand the step and believe you are ready to move on.
