Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
DT - Never heard of that. I had a Rx for Pyrridium that also turned my pee orange. Now I am on an antibiotic finally. Feeling better. I will try AZO another time.
I just need to get some structure - I'm just not figuring it out myself.
Thanks again.
No wonder you're grumpy....and if you can't poo either...damn girl, those 2 right there are pretty much hell! lol!
I'm sorry you don't feel good. Be grumpy, with those 2 issues, you're allowed! :)
And yes dreamy...I am weird, but that's what you love about me! :) heehee...
I have been there with you through a few relapses and I have seen this very thing lead up to it. The same feelings, thoughts and attitudes. I believe that if you do not take drastic measures that you will relapse. If you do not take some action to counter this I hate to think of what will happen.
I skipped my IOP tonight, because I couldn't bear the thought of sitting through a lecture and then meeting in a group that included family. It's simple. I have a problem that I now recognize clearly. ADD/ADHD is closest diagnosis I can seem to get so far. Since I was a little kid, my self medication was exercise. If I don't burn off the energy and calm my mind, it turns to frustration then rage. I lose my serenity, start fighting with people, and end up with the fuckits. I am on a med that has seemed to be working until the last couple days.
I called my group counselor and told her exactly what I was doing to deal with it. I had to run my ass off for awhile, and so I did. I feel a thousand times better already. I also called my sponsor - she knows all this about me - and she suggested I get some exercise. I am also going to start on steps 6-7 tonight and meet with her Saturday to complete them.
Back to zen I think. Thanks all.
Stay on the ball Olive Oil. Be PROACTIVE. If running helps, run your ass off.
Your a peach sober, but a pain in the ass drunk.
with kindness - G
:)
Anna, if it were I posting this, what would you advise me to do? What encouragment would you offer? How would you convince me that I was at great risk of picking up that drink? Whatever you would tell me would be good advice I'm sure. Take your own advice.
And, then tell me about it, so I can be more prepared when that day comes. I'm 18 days today still happy - how long can it possibly last?
I can relate, I can sooooo relate. Ended up buying the biggest kick bag you can imagine, and it lives in my lounge room. ACDC on the headphones, and Whoooo, release that tension. Exercise, nutrition, outdoors. It's cold and cloudy? Beautiful, another gifted day. Rug up, take a walk, come back and enjoy a warm bubble bath.
As for the hubby, communicate. Find a neutral place, on the floor in a corridor, sit him down and have tribal council. Let him know how you feel, and what he can do to help. Not that your asking him to stop, but asking him to ease off at home yeah. Do some serious risk management HTL. Make time, for step work and YOU. This is where the foundations of sobriety are laid. Make them solid.
GOYA!!
It will mellow out with time. The first year was the hardest.
You seem to be doing just fine and staying sober. At the end of those rough days give yourself a pat on the back. It's easier to stay sober when the world is all roses and blue skies. It's those tough ones that build character, strength, and teach us the most.
Sorry, about the UTI.....you have seen a doc right?
It's a new day!
