I'm very happy for you, dipso. It must have felt wonderful to have that kind of support. Oh, Julz.. happiness is right there, you just haven't taken the blanket off the light bulb:) It is possible to have true happiness. Very possible.

I'm happy with mine and glad you are too. Of course we all have things that come up but approaching them with an unhappy outlook won't improve what comes along!

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah, thanks everyone. I remember day 72, day one all over again - I thought I would surely never see 70 days again, and was devastated that I had WASTED this time.

Now I look at it differently - I needed that relapse to learn how precious my sobriety is, how strong i really am, how great my support was, and to remember what i would lose if i kept drinking.

Dreamingtree, I am happier than I have ever been in my life. I dont believe I have ever been properly happy because i never properly lived.

Now, i am a little in debt, a little overweight, been off work for 3months due to a new illness that will be lifelong, but I wouldnt trade any of it for one day of soberness.
I really am happy with self. and thats the best way.

Im as prepared as any of us can be, and I have a battle plan for any threats to my sobriety. peace and love to you.

Dream-no one is truly "happy" in the classic sense, that would be exhausting to be full of joy and happiness all the time! I think what we should strive for is contentment, and to live in love and peace.

I don't know who is fully "prepared" for this life either-I think we all are just winging it, atleast I am! Don't understand this negativity. It is all good!

KK- I do not have an illusion that people are happy at all times. The ying and the yang holds much substance.

I don't believe in "full happiness." The hard represents the calm.

Negativity? No. Maybe you just don't understand . All cool! Just wondering if people are really able to dig as opposed to decide to not drink. I don't think it can happen without one or the other. Doesn't mean I am right. The idea that I have is not negative imo.

I toss the mix as to honesty with oneself.

The reason I think I was able to do that was because you had all the help I had and I just wanted you to take it seriously. This is because the majority of people on here dont have access to the detox option we got for free.

Interesting comment. I used to see that phrase now and then- the one that says "you're not ready to stop drinking yet" and it used to offend me. I'd say to myself "who do they think they are - how can they say such a thing!".

The fact is, I've seen it a few times in my own life and now I know what it means. You really do have to come to a final realization!
