Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Make a list of things you like about yourself. Write it out! Don't hold it in! Go for it!
Read it and post it on your bathroom mirror if ya want.
You KNOW you have MANY wonderful qualities Ashley! Allow yourself to acknowledge them!
I agree with dreamingtree, put new thoughts in their place, you can do it!
She has depression which sounds out-of-control at this point.
Ashley tell us more about right now...are you drinking? are you on your meds?
Please talk..verbally talk to someone..a Crsis line is perfect. They will listen
Peace
Are you drinking tonight and have you taken your meds. I want to know your safe.
Have you ever been hospitalised for your depression?
Repeat this mantra out loud:
"Today, right now, I am OK.
Today, right now, there is food in the fridge and a roof over my head.
Today, right now, I have friends who love and support me.
Today, right now, I am an adult, competent woman.
Today, right now, I can handle this feeling. It will not overwhelm me. I am not small today.
Today, right now, I am OK."
Now go pick up the phone and call a friend or the crisis line. You are going to be OK. We are all behind you and want you to succeed. You're not alone.
The above is what I do when I'm spiralling down and my head is full of old, unhealthy tapes. What dreamingtree suggests works, too.
*hugs* It's going to be OK.
I hope you will call your doctor and tell him/her how you're feeling. You don't have to suffer so.
I also learned that you can tell those voices thanks for sharing but shut the f*ck up!
Live from the heart!
